Laura Dreissen is assistant professor at VU Amsterdam in the Physics and Astronomy department.

She will develop a new trapped-ion experiment for quantum-enhanced sensing in the search for physics beyond the Standard Model. She uses entangled quantum states, that are designed to be insensitive to environmental noise, for robust and accurate frequency metrology. With precision isotope shift measurements in two entangled barium ions, she aims to search for a new boson-mediated force.
